If you have never done the Camino de SantiagoIt may be difficult to decide which one to do and for what reason.
From my experience, after travelling more than 4,400 kilometres and even more after almost 5,000 pilgrims have shared the experience with Viajeros Canallas, I would say without a doubt the French Way of St. James.. In our case we organise it in 7 days / 6 nights with 5 stages and a total distance of 114 kilometres.
Why this decision? The French Way It passes through an area full of villages, spectacular forests and landscapes and places where you can enjoy the delicious gastronomy of inland Galicia.
In fact, in my opinion, I have never had better bread, omelette, octopus, nor have I remembered such simple flavours as lettuce, tomato or potato in such an authentic way as in this area.
At the same time, it is a road where there are no mountains and no great difficulties, although of course I am not going to deceive you:
Galicia is up and down, it is full of slopes. But I repeat, it is not at all a complicated or mountainous terrain, so much so that we, in Viajeros Canallas, so far we have received pilgrims from 5 years old the youngest and almost 80 years old the eldest..
In short, it is a path for everyone.
The busiest section of the Way of St James
On the other hand, the French Way is the most concurrido by far. One of the greatest pleasures of this adventure is the contact with the many pilgrims from all over the world that you will meet.
Without a doubt, it is a very enriching experience. And if there's one thing I really value if it's your first walk, it's, as I said, walking through such beautiful landscapes and lush forests and yet having so many services.
The French Way in this area is full of towns, villages, bars, pharmacies, health centres, supermarkets and restaurants. This makes it a path within everyone's reach.

If, on the other hand, you have already done the French Way or you feel like trying another type of Camino, although we will publish a post later on talking about the Portuguese Way and the Primitive Way, I will tell you to let your heart lead you.
At the end of the day, the important thing is to enjoy it and the simple fact of to carry out the Camino de Santiago in group is already a great experience in itself.
I encourage you to try it. I fell in love with the Camino de SantiagoI have never felt more alive, laughed and cried more than in this experience. Don't dream your life, live your dreams.
